FishTank — iPhone, iPad

Informativa sulla privacy

Ultimo aggiornamento: 28 ottobre 2026

Railab S.r.l.
Via Adolfo Ferrata 2 — 25123 Brescia, Italia
P.IVA IT03984120984

Uso senza accesso (Monitor)

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

FishTank shows the state of the AI Aquarium in the Railab laboratory. Anyone using it without logging in provides no personal data: there is no account, no analytics and no advertising.

This policy applies to the FishTank app on iPhone and iPad. The terms of use are on the Terms of use page.

Use without logging in (Monitor)

When opened, the app shows the tank's values, the trend of the last 24 hours, the state of the devices, the alarms and the camera image. To do so it connects to the tank server (tank.railab.com) through the Cloudflare network.

In this mode the app does not send names, email addresses, phone numbers, the device name or identifier, location or advertising identifiers. As with any internet connection, Cloudflare and the server receive the device's IP address: the server uses it only to limit the number of requests per address and does not store it; Cloudflare processes it as network provider, under its own privacy policy.

Railab staff access

Control functions are reserved for staff authorised by Railab, with personal credentials issued by Railab. For those who log in the following is processed:

  • Username and password: kept only in the device Keychain, readable while the device is unlocked and never copied to other devices. The server keeps the password only as an irreversible hash.
  • Operations log: for every login, unlock, logout, command or setting change the server records the user, date and time, operation, previous and new value, outcome, app version, the device name and app-specific device identifier, and the IP address. It protects the tank and records who did what (Railab's legitimate interest and the employment relationship). Only authorised staff can read it, and it is kept as long as needed for this purpose.
  • Log on the device: a copy of the operations made from that device, in a protected app file. It stays after logout and is deleted by uninstalling the app.

Face ID, Touch ID and passcode

After the first login the app reopens with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. Recognition is done by the operating system: the app only receives the outcome (success or not) and has no access to biometric data.

Tank camera

The camera frames the tank. During maintenance the staff turns on a screen that replaces the image, so people working on the tank are not shown. The app does not record images.

What the app does not do

It contains no analytics, tracking, profiling or advertising components, does not use the device's location, camera, microphone or contacts, and shares no data with third parties.

Where the data is

The tank server is in the Railab laboratory in Flero (Brescia, Italy). Traffic goes through the network of Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as provider and may process data also in the United States, with the safeguards of Articles 44-49 GDPR.

Rights

Staff with a login may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Articles 15-22 GDPR) by writing to [email protected], and may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it). Anyone using the app without logging in provides no data that can identify them.

Logout and deletion

"Esci" (log out) deletes the credentials from the device and returns the app to the mode without login. Uninstalling the app also deletes the local log and the settings.

Changes

Any update to this policy will be published on this page, with the revision date shown.
